Jameson Scheib
Our ninth Inspirational Family is the Scheib family. Jameson is a six year old boy from Commerce Twp, MI.
Jameson’s story started when he was 5 years old. Jameson was diagnosed with ALL (Leukemia) on March 17, 2015 and the crazy whirlwind of learning terms, roadmaps, blood counts, chemotherapies, etc. began. About a week later, his parents, Melissa and Brandon found out that he had a very rare form of ALL called Philadelphia Chromosome Positive ALL, which meant his normal roadmap became very high risk – with many many planned hospital stays.
Sydney, Jameson’s sister, underwent bone marrow testing and a couple weeks later they learned that Sydney was a perfect match for Jameson. Sydney could not have been happier to find out the news knowing she could help save Jameson’s life. The family, however, received wonderful news that he was responding to the chemo and a transplant would not be needed.
Jameson’s treatments consist of 3-5 night hospital stays every 21-30 days, all of which started on March 17th and will continue through June 2016. Due to the treatments, Jameson will not be starting kindergarten this year. He is enrolled at Glengary Elementary, but will not be able to attend school. He will have a teacher come to their house 2 hours a week, and with class work from his teacher, Jameson will experience kindergarten from home.
Every doctor or nurse that meets Jameson, walks away in awe of him. Even a few nurses have expressed their awe at how well he is doing, how healthy he stays in between treatments, and how he is thriving despite the circumstances. During which he hardly ever complains.
Jameson is the son to Melissa and Brandon Scheib.
